Real Journeys are looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team in Bluff.
We're looking for someone trade qualified to assist with the maintenance of New Zealand's largest vessel fleet. You'll be assigned a Real Journeys' vessel to work on, so you will be required to manage all engineering, safety and financial aspects of the project. Depending on the project, you may also be leading a team to ensure the job gets completed within a specified timeframe and budget. As a Senior member of the team, you will act as a role model, provide coaching and mentoring for our Technicians and Apprentices. The role is based mainly in Bluff but sometimes you will also be needed to provide support to our team in Te Anau and other areas of operation.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone comes from an automotive or marine background and is preferably trade qualified. You will be conscientious, knowledgeable and able to perform safe and efficient repairs and preventive maintenance, as well as keep excellent records as required. We need someone who is able to lead and mentor a team but is equally self-motivated to work alone with minimum supervision. You will have the ability to prioritise, self-manage and make decisions under pressure, while at the same time maintaining accuracy. You will also have a keen interest in marine, be willing to progress your knowledge and keen to learn. A NZ driver’s licence is a must.
